New watchpost

Since 2 days Bibi Has discovered a new watchpost in my room.
She found the top of my bookcase,
which gives her a much better perfect view over the garden.
almost glued against the ceiling she looks down on me,
disturbed a bit, as you can see by the look of her eyes.

then ignoring/forgetting me...focussed her eye on something very important to see.

I like the title of the book which happens to underline exactly what she is doing

Larva ladybird 2

For some of you, you might shiver inside, by looking at those creepy crawly tiny bugs.
and I do some too, ...shiver,... shiver... brrrrrrrr,...
yuck.

However that how it is now, after falling nature.
eaten and to be eaten... the circle of life.

The larva still has made it for today, I picked some fresh lice for him, as a sappy meal.
which he immediately started feeding on.

larva ladybird

As I got my mail out of my mailbox,
I saw a larva of a ladybird(lieveheersbeestje) sitting on the mailbox,
I decided to find out if that was the right determination.
so I took it with me, manouvring the little thing on my mail, as not to strangle him.

I found it was a larva of a ladybird..and that they like lice for a meal.
I searched in the garden for lice, found a rosebud with lots of lice...so there we are.
on the web...
see if the larva gets into cocoon,
and then out into a ladybird...

(which I wanted to do some years ago, follow the process.)

papavers

The red dots of the papavers
change my garden suddenly in a wonderful colored palette
combined with the fresh sapgreen buxus leaves and bluish purples...
every year again its like a surprise.

gardenflowers

Have been ill for a while, flu or something that looks like flu...,
no energie and whatsoever.
much sleeping....
slowly recovering. that explains the long silence on my blog.

my garden however is flourishing as never before.
here flowers of Thalictrum (ruit)
the black elderberry (vlier)
and the Alchemilla (vrouwenmantel)

longtailed tit

A couple of longtailed tits (staartmees) (Aegithalos caudatus)came along for a bath...
several times.
the longtail however almost remained dry
they both looked quite undone after...
so they went on sitting on a branch for preening & drying

The alliums have come out.

no more possibility to return into the old wrappings.

one day later

these are today...breaking a little more open

breaking open

Breaking open of the bud of Allium (kind of onion) with beautiful purple flowers.
I like the way how the flower inside.... breaks the bud open,
which has become too tight and narrow.
(this one I photographed yesterday)

parrotlet feathers

while visiting my friend K.
her little parrot Lievvie dropped some beautiful colored feathers.
The little bird flies all around her house,
its so fun to see a bird flying your way, landing on your shoulders...
eating your cheese from the bread ... or drinking in your coffee.
